Aquaman star urges people to join bone marrow donor registry
Jason Momoa makes a difference for children who need bone marrow transplants.
The Aquaman star made an impressive appearance at a bone marrow donor awareness campaign at Brigham Young University-Hawaii.
The 43-year-old actor visited the campus to help raise awareness for bone marrow registries and meet some of the young children in need of transplants.
Six-year-old Rhyder Lopez and his 9-year-old brother got the chance to meet the action star and tell him their stories.
Rhaiden had a match seven years ago and has been cured, but Rhyder has yet to find a match.
In a video from the event, shared by the famous actor on Instagram, Momoa appears to be emotionally charged. “I love you all for coming,” she called into the microphone with a big smile.
“I get emotional when I think about it. If it’s my kids or your kids… it doesn’t take much. You can save lives with a simple process. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for coming. I love you, Aloha!” he added.
Jason Momoa learned about the Be The Match organization from his friend, Travis Snyder, who is fighting leukemia for the third time. The actor wanted to help and encourage others to join the bone marrow donor registry.
