Ultimately convicted in Italy of rape, former player Robinho, 38, was present in coup acts that paralyzed roads across Brazil. According to Extra, he was disguised in a demonstration in São Vicente (coast of SP), with the colors of Brazil and reinforcing the request for federal intervention.

He was wearing a cap, mask and wrapped in the country’s flag. However, the thick ring on the left hand, shown in some Instagram images, helps to recognize who it is.

On social media, Robinho avoided publishing images of him during the demonstrations. Before the first round, he declared himself a voter of Jair Bolsonaro (PL). Because he removed the space for comments in his posts, it is not possible to analyze the repercussion on the former athlete’s profile, but on Twitter his name was among the most commented subjects.

“It’s really a joke,” fired a follower. “I hope Lula makes a deal with Italy and sends him there,” commented another. Italy’s Justice has asked for the extradition of the former Santos player and the Brazilian national team. Robinho was convicted of having participated in the gang rape of a young woman of Albanian origin in a Milan nightclub in 2013, while playing for Milan.

The player’s defense denied the crime throughout the process and maintained the absence of evidence that Robinho’s relationship with the woman who accused him was not consensual.
