The Kerasochori of Evrytania it is located on the outskirts of Mount Agrafon, at an altitude of 1100 meters and until 1930 it was called Kerasovo or Mega Kerasovo, having innumerable wonderful stone houses, paved streets and several privately owned towers of powerful estates of the time.
It was the capital of the former Municipality of Agraia, while since 2011 it is the seat of the Kallikrat municipality of Agrafon.
With a fairly long, both pre-revolutionary, revolutionary and more recent history, Kerasochori manages to acquire a strong and special character, which is evident even today, just wandering through its well-kept alleys and taking a look in everything that surrounds him.
On May 10, 1821, Costas Vellis raised the flag of the Revolution, while during the National Resistance, the ELAS headquarters operated in the village, led by Stefanos Sarafis and Giorgis Siados.
And while until the end of the 17th century Kerasovo was counted as a town, with over 300 families and 1500 people, a school of “common letters”, merchants, shoemakers, etc., the 18th century comes and it begins to flourish demographically. But even the later times did not allow the place to recover… wars, civil war, dictatorship, civil unrest…
