A woman accuses Warren Beatty, 85, an award-winning actor and director, of sexually abusing her as a teenager in 1973, according to Vanity Fair. The alleged victim Kristina Charlotte Hirsch has filed a lawsuit against him in a court in Los Angeles, in the United States.
In the lawsuit, Hirsch does not specifically refer to Beatty’s name. But the woman says she was sexually abused by an actor who was nominated for an Oscar for playing the titular role of “Clyde in Bonnie and Clyde” (1967) as Beatty. Sought by the publication, the actor’s representatives did not comment on the accusation.
Hirsch stated that she met the actor in a movie in Los Angeles when she was 14 years old and he was 35. According to her, the actor talked about his appearance and invited her to his hotel. She said that at first she was thrilled with the attention and invitation from the actor, who offered to help with her school homework and took her for a drive.
In the complaint filed against Beatty, Hirsch said the actor used his position and status as a Hollywood star to force a minor into sexual contact several times, including oral sex, simulated sex and forced intercourse.
Hirsh is seeking legal compensation for severe emotional, physical and psychological suffering. She said that due to the alleged abuse she suffered trust and control issues. The lawsuit was filed under a 2019 California law that grants a retroactive window for allegations of child sexual abuse.
