Alec Baldwin claims he was handed a gun loaded with live bullets on set, resulting in the death of the film’s 42-year-old cinematographer.

In retaliation for her death Halina Tatcins passed the Alec Baldwin, as he filed a lawsuit against the gunsmith and other members of the Rust movie production.

Wanting to deflect any blame, Alec Baldwin claims he was handed a gun loaded with live bullets on set, resulting in the death of the film’s 42-year-old cinematographer.

The actor sued four production members, Hannah Gutierrez-Reid, Dave Halls, Sarah Zachary and Seth Kennedy, for failing to follow required safety measures on set.

“This tragedy happened because real bullets were delivered on set and they loaded the gun with them,” wrote Baldwin’s lawyer, Luke Nikas, according to several US media.

“Gutierrez-Reed failed to carefully check the bullets or the gun, Halls failed to check the gun carefully but announced the gun was safe before handing it over to Baldwin, and Zachary failed to advise that Gutierrez-Reed was acting recklessly off the set and was a safety hazard to those around her,” Nikas continued.

He added that the actor “seeking to clear his name” and to hold defendants “responsible for their conduct.”

According to the New York Times, Baldwin also accuses Kennedy, who supplied all the guns in the film, of carelessly storing all the ammunition. It also cites an FBI report that showed Zachary and Gutierrez-Reed, the props specialist and the blacksmith, were not tracking the actual bullets being fired on set.
