Don’t despair… Zoey Kravitz says there won’t be a third season of ‘Big Little Lies’

Kravitz, in response to a fan’s question about when the series will return to televisions, revealed that she does not think it will happen after the death of Jean-Marc Vallée

Zoe Kravitz believes there won’t be a third season for the TV series “Big Little Lies” following the death of executive producer and director, Jean-Marc Vallée. “I can’t imagine going on without him,” the actress, who played Bonnie in the series, told GQ.

In “Big Little Lies” starring in addition to Kravitz: Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, Celine Windley and Nicole Kidman as moms who are bound for life by a deadly secret. Valle directed the entire first season of “Big Little Lies,” winning two Emmys. For the show’s second season, Valle stepped away from the director’s chair, leaving Andrea Arnold to take over, while remaining as an executive producer. On December 21, 2021, Valle died unexpectedly of a heart attack at the age of 59.

Kravitz, in response to a fan’s question about when the series will return to televisions, revealed that she doesn’t think that will happen without Valle. “We talked a lot about the third season. Sadly, Jean-Marc Vallée, our incredible director, passed away last year. It’s heartbreaking. I can’t imagine going on without him. He was truly the visionary of the series. Unfortunately, it happened.”

Although Kravitz believes there won’t be a third season of the show for her part, Witherspoon said there is “a deep desire from everyone to reunite and bring all these characters to life one more time.” She went on to reveal that she and co-star Nicole Kidman have been talking about a potential new season “all the time” and that her former production company, Hello Sunshine, “had a serious discussion about revisiting” the show.
