After leaving prison, singer Ávine Vinny, 32, posted a video on social media asking his audience not to attack the mother of his daughter, Laís Holanda, who denounced him on suspicion of threatening. He assumed he was wrong and asked for forgiveness.
“There was a heated argument between my daughter’s mother and me and in that argument I ended up exceeding myself with someone who didn’t deserve it. She sought help, sought her rights, but now everything is clear. I ask you to respect the mother of the my daughter, she is an honorable woman,” she began.
In another excerpt of the video, he says that the fight was not motivated by money or fame and that he respects the eight years of history he had with Laís. “The fight wasn’t because I was with someone and she was jealous, it wasn’t because I wanted to see my daughter and she wouldn’t let me or because she was looking for fame or money. Pray for me, pray for her, and I ask for forgiveness. a process of construction and deconstruction at the same time,” he concluded.
The singer was released early this Tuesday afternoon (14) after a custody hearing held at the 17th Criminal Court in Fortaleza. The artist had been arrested on Monday afternoon (13) in flagrante delicto on suspicion of threatening his ex-wife, with whom he had an eight-year relationship and has a daughter.
He spent the night in detention and will respond to the case in freedom. No use of electronic ankle bracelets or payment of bail was determined.
According to the singer’s press office, the woman withdrew the complaint. “I never thought we could go through this, but luckily everything was clarified and resolved in the best way. I have to thank Laís for having taken into account our life history and having been sensitized to this procedural issue, in order not to harm anyone , especially for our daughter, to whom both of us have always dedicated a lot of love,” he said, according to a note sent by the press office.
According to the Secretariat of Public Security and Social Defense of Ceará (SSPDS), on Monday afternoon (13), Ávine’s ex-wife went to the police station to denounce the threat. While the police report was being registered, she received other messages from the singer “with new threats”.
“In light of the facts, the civil police began proceedings that resulted in the suspect being located and arrested. At the police station, he was booked in flagrante delicto for a threat in the context of domestic violence. For the victim, urgent protective measures were requested from the court”, informed the Secretariat.
Along with Matheus Fernandes, Ávine broke out nationally with “Coração Cachorro”, which was controversial. That’s because the forró uses in a passage the melody of the song “Same Mistake”, released by James Blunt in 2007.
In late October, the British artist posted a video on TikTok singing his song, when he is interrupted in the chorus by the Brazilians. He then praises the success of the forró and even does a little dance to the sound of the chorus “late heart”.
In the video caption, the singer congratulated the duo for the hit and wrote that he would charge for the copyright. “Congratulations on #1 everyone! I’ll send you my bank details soon.”
What sounded like a joke, however, was true. Blunt in fact claimed part of the authorship of “Coração Cachorro”, which was agreed in November, extrajudicially.
The six composers of the song —Daniel dos Versos, Fellipe Panda, PG do Carmo, Riquinho da Rima, Breno Lucena and Felipe Love— agreed to give 20% of the song’s authorship to Blunt. According to Universal Music Publishing Brasil, the agreement with the British singer was made in a friendly way.
