Meghan Markle ended her Spotify podcast Archetypes by bidding farewell to listeners with a verse from a poem by Dino Christianopoulos.

Specifically, the Duchess of Sussex he said in episode 12: “And what did you not do to bury me, but you forgot that I was a seed.” This was the end of a series of episodes during which she spoke to many guests about gender equality and negative stereotypes affecting women. Minutes before the end, Markle said: “I feel understood, I never thought I would feel this way using my voice, but it’s true.”

“A long time ago, I heard a phrase that I will share with you today as we talk about ‘labels’, figures of speech and ‘boxes’ that they may try to put you into as well as roles or stereotypes that are assigned to you that don’t quite fit the person you are. you are, that’s the phrase I wanted to leave you with,” he said, reciting the Christianopoulos verse.
