Married for ten years and mother of a 5-year-old boy, actress Sheron Menezzes, 39, rarely leaves home to attend events or parties. Because of that, she had to live with a not very pleasant label for some time: that of unfriendly.
“This already bothered me at some point back there, but maturity made me understand that everything is a matter of perspective. I have my sincere way of being and of saying what I think bluntly. Some think it’s spontaneity and others, dislike” , she explains in a chat with F5🇧🇷
Sincerity, in Sheron’s view, is a quality, and she cannot change the perception of others. Social networks have helped to remove this stigma. “I post a lot of things from my life and people started to understand my more acid humor. Today this fame [de ser antipática] fell to the ground”, guarantees.
This fact was also corroborated by Sheron being a more discreet woman on a personal level. The actress and fighter Saulo Bernard celebrated their union with an intimate ceremony aimed at just a few people in March of this year. She also hasn’t given interviews about marriage, which she prefers to keep out of the spotlight.
“The interviews weren’t happening much, even because of the pandemic there was a greater distance, but I don’t consider myself reserved, until I open up a lot”, she explains. “But I like talking to my audience through the press, yes. It’s like reaching another type of people who aren’t so much into the internet and enjoy reading more about life and work.”
In the story of “Vai na Fé”, scheduled to premiere in January on Globo in the place of “Cara e Coragem”, Sheron will be seen as Sol, a hardworking woman and seller of takeaway food from Piedade, a neighborhood in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro. As a life motto, she always tries to face all challenges with a lot of positivity. The protagonist will be the second black woman in the sequence at 7 pm.
“I think it’s wonderful, we’re on the right track, but it was about to happen. Let the third, fourth black protagonist come along. This inspires other girls who dream. My role is to show how positive all this can be”, evaluates Sheron, who personally de Sol will return to telenovelas after a two-year hiatus (the last one was “Bom Sucesso” which ended in January 2020).
“In that time I did other things as one of the protagonists of [série da Netflix] ‘Maldives’ and also a film, ‘Carga Máxima’, which will also premiere in January 2023. They were enriching works that made me breathe new air”, he highlights.
And speaking of acting, 2022 is the year Sheron celebrates 20 years dedicated to this business. The beginning of the actress’s career was at the age of 18, in the soap opera “Esperança” (2002). Now, more mature, she says that the balance she makes of her career is very positive. “I did everything I planned and I feel accomplished. I don’t expect anything from the future, because I learned to live in the present. I just want to do the present very well and enjoy the achievements.”
