And there goes 15 years since the catchphrase ‘Uhu, Nova Iguaçu’ crossed the borders of the municipality of Rio de Janeiro and became famous throughout Brazil because of a BBB 7 member. Fani Pacheco not only marked the edition because of his war cry , but also for talking about sex openly and without crickets on the Globo show.
If today it is difficult to watch a reality show in which the participants DO NOT freely expose their innermost depths, in 2007 Fani’s attitude, then 24 years old, was almost revolutionary. And she had to hold back because criticism rained down. “I left with the ‘piranha’ tag”, she sums it up.
Not that Fani was surprised by the reactions of the spectators, on the contrary. “I knew this would happen. If today there is still prejudice against women who say they like to have sex, imagine back then”, she analyzes.
“I was the first real Geni on television. They threw a lot of stones at me, but I had my head made up and nothing shook me”, recalls the former event promoter. She says that her outgoing manner led many people to “confuse things”.
“Because I was liberal, I was frowned upon for a long time. I suffered from the crossed looks of women, who were jealous of their husbands and boyfriends, I was harassed by men… I didn’t have the conscience I have today”, she says, remembering two episodes of harassment that left her especially traumatized. “There were two directors of two samba schools. Horrible. Terrible. I’ve never paraded in my life and I don’t intend to break that promise.”
At age 40, Fani finishes medical school in 2023 and, as a result, has worked less than she would like as a model and influencer. “The priority now is to graduate”, she says that, in the city she loves and promoted throughout the country, she is queen: her face can be seen in advertisements and publicity campaigns of several companies in the region.
“It is with this money that I pay for my studies”, reveals the future neurologist, for whom the idea of returning to participate in a reality is completely discarded. “There is not the slightest possibility,” she assures.
