World Cup: Netizens thank Tite for avoiding loss to Argentina

After Argentina eliminated Croatia in the Qatar World Cup this Tuesday (13), Brazilian fans took to social media to thank coach Tite for avoiding the humiliation of losing to the Argentines.

Presenter Milton Neves tweeted during the game that each Argentine goal was a dagger in the Brazilian heart that had to endure Brazil’s draw against Croatia – which resulted in elimination on penalties. “Thanks, Tite! If it weren’t for you, we would have been slaughtered by Argentina,” wrote Neves.

“We were supposed to be losing to Argentina, I don’t know whether to be relieved or sad. Congratulations Brazil for showing that we managed to be worse than Argentina”, tweeted the internet user @ssouzagh, who added a photo of a person with their face painted with the Argentina flag colors. “You can even hate Argentina, but they did in 20 minutes what we couldn’t in 120”, says the caption of the photo.

Internet user Pedro Arthur said that in the end the Brazilians were lucky enough to be eliminated by Croatia. “Imagine what Argentina would do to us. They had already won the Copa America here at home. It would be much more shameful and crazier. Thank you, Tite, for saving us from the worst.”

“Thanks, Tite. It was better to have lost before. You are a visionary,” wrote Twitter user Márcio Faria. “Just imagining that it was supposed to be Brazil vs Argentina today in a World Cup semifinal. Thank you Tite! Faggot genius”, tweeted @amaralmth. “It’s Messi, but it’s still sad. We were the ones who had to lose to Argentina today, not Croatia! Thanks, Tite!”, said internet user Eduardo Carvalho.
