The iconic rock artist holds the record for the most concerts ever held at the venue
Billy Joel postponed his last concert to 2022 at Madison Square Garden in New York, which was scheduled for today due to a viral infection.
In a statement shared on social media, the singer wrote: “I am disappointed to share that I am on doctor’s orders for vocal rest due to a viral infection, so unfortunately, I have to postpone the concert at Madison Square Garden until June.”

“I am very sorry to inform you so soon before the concert, but I had hoped to have fully recovered by now. Unfortunately, this has not happened. I can’t wait to see you in the new year,” said Billy Joel. As confirmed on the singer’s website, the concert will take place on June 2, 2023.
The iconic rock artist holds the record for the most concerts ever held at the equally legendary stadium, having played 131 concerts so far at Madison Square Garden. In second place are the Grateful Dead, who have given 53 concerts in the same venue.
Billy Joel last appeared there on November 23, followed by gigs in Auckland and Melbourne earlier this month.
