F5 Award: ‘Under Pressure’ takes all trophies in drama series category

It didn’t have for anyone, at least in terms of series. Globo’s success, “Under Pressure” outlasted its competitors and won all the trophies related to the drama series item in this year’s F5 Awards. Marjorie Estiano and her stage partner Julio Andrade were named best actress and actor.

This had already happened in the year 2019 when both the project and its protagonists triumphed with the preference of the public vote. In 2020, however, “As Five” (Globoplay) won as the best series.

In this year’s poll, “Under Pressure” won 66% of the 47,800 votes, triple that of “Tune-Up” (Netflix) which came in second with 22% of the public’s preference. “Dom” (5%), “Manhãs de Setembro” (5%), both from Amazon, and “Onde Está Meu Coração” (2%), from Globoplay, competed with them.

Actress Marjorie Estiano, who in the drama plays the doctor Carolina and who was nominated for an International Emmy for her role in the series, took the award washed away with 82% of the 59,011 votes. To get an idea of ​​the disparity, the runner-up was Alessandra Negrini for her performance in Netflix’s “Invisible City”, with 7%.

Actresses Liniker for “Manhãs de Setembro” (5%), Leticia Colin for “Onde Está Meu Coração” (4%) and Debora Bloch for “Segunda chama” by Globoplay (3%) were also in the competition.

Julio Andrade, who plays doctor Evandro in the series set in a public hospital in Rio de Janeiro, was the most voted best actor with 62% of the 54,269 votes. Christian Malheiros took second place for his role in “Tune-Up” with 19% of the popular vote.

The bronze medal in this dispute went to actor Marco Pigossi for the series “Cidade Invisível” (10%), fourth place went to Fábio Assunção for “Onde Está Meu Coração” (5%). The fifth place went to Gabriel Leone for his work on “Dom” (5%).

Candidates in each category were defined by the Academy. F5, formed by the reporting team, columnists of the F5 and guests from other editorials. Public voting was open until December 6th.
