Sneakers are -especially in recent years- an integral part of every wardrobe and have been upgraded to a statement piece, whether it is a casual breakfast outfit or something more formal.
But you have to admit that you do not need other sneakers in your collection, but you could invest in some pairs that the trends show that they will become the next necessary piece in your wardrobe.
While it is true that our love for sneakers will never go away, it seems that at least for now, we need a break for sneakers.
In the annual Fashion Recap exhibition, authors and fashion addicts mentioned that sneakers after so many years claiming the title of “best shoe”, can now take a break, giving space to some other couples.
Chunky Loafers
A surprise for a few for sure, but chunky loafers like Prada Monolith loafers are expected to be one of the top shoes of the year. The interesting thing about these shoes is the fact that the searches for them on the internet have increased by 295% since the beginning of the year.
Mary Janes
Mary Janes is (literally) from another era and this year the trend returns. It’s special and definitely not for everyone, but it’s undoubtedly a statement piece.
Kitten Heels
Possibly the trend that returns as a “consequence” of the reboot of Sex and the City. Searches for kitten heels have increased by 89% compared to the previous period.
Crocs
This is a surprise though! We never thought that the day would come when Crocs would be a fashionable shoe, but if the last two years have proven anything, it’s all that is possible.
The ugly-chic shoe has seen a 76% increase in search clicks compared to the previous period. Oops!
