In the coming hours, measures and recommendations will be announced that will clearly define the context in which we will move in the next days of the festive season, stressed the government spokesman Giannis Economou speaking on SKAI TV and the show “Unmatched”.
As he said, the Prime Minister himself will address some issues during today’s meeting of the Council of Ministers.
Asked if the measures will only cover the New Year or include Christmas, he said it would be a clear roadmap for how to spend all the holidays.
In any case, he assured that nothing very substantial is changing for the festive period and that whatever is deemed appropriate after the experts’ suggestions, the government will see how it will adopt it in order to be both functional and effective and to meet the basic parameters of the government strategy.
He reiterated that there is no universal lockdown in the government’s mind today and is making every effort to avoid universal measures.
He added that if horizontal measures are needed but not with universal restriction, they will be discussed and announced without surprises.
For the schools, Mr. Oikonomou stated that there is no suggestion that they should not open on time and in fact that the number of cases of coronavirus in schools is falling.
Mr. Oikonomou added that the possibility of reopening the platform for providing free self-tests to the citizens in order to examine the epidemic situation in the country is being considered.
