Andrew Tate, former athlete who provoked Greta Thunberg, arrested for human trafficking

The last week of the year has been busy and controversial for Andrew Tate. After making a provocative post to Greta Thunberg on Twitter and receiving an ironic response, the former athlete has now been arrested by Romanian police on charges of organized crime and rape.

According to investigators, the former kickboxing athlete and his brother were being investigated since April of this year for “recruiting, harboring and exploiting women, forcing them to create pornographic content intended to be viewed on specialized websites for a cost.”

Tate quoted Thunberg as saying he had more than 30 cars that emit a lot of pollutants and asked for an email so he could send a report. The activist countered and said “send an email to [email protected]”.

After the arrest announcement, Greta returned to the social network to comment and said that’s what happens when “you don’t recycle your pizza boxes”. This is because the athlete posted a video in response to the provocation that showed boxes of pizza and there is speculation that the restaurant’s information helped the authorities to locate him.

A spokesperson for Tate told the Daily Mirror he could not provide details but that “Andrew and Tristan Tate have the utmost respect for the Romanian authorities and will always help and assist in any way they can.”
