James Corden: Quitting ‘The Late Late Show’ for His Kids

Corden revealed that his choice had more to do with his three children

James Corden knew from the start that hosting “The Late Late Show” would be an “adventure” and never the “final destination.”

In a guest spot on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’, the British actor and presentershared why he made the decision to step down as host after eight years.

“Look it’s not easy by any means to walk away from something like that… I mean I’ll never work in a better environment than what I’m working in now,” he said. “My leaving the show is not about whether I enjoy it. I love it, but the truth is that I made the decision very easily because I always knew it was an adventure and I never thought of it as the final destination.”

Corden then revealed that his choice had more to do with his three children, as he said due to work commitments he did not have enough time to devote to them.

Corden announced last April that he plans to step down from hosting “The Late Late Show,” which he took over in 2015 following the departure of Craig Ferguson, at the end of this season.
