‘Harry… do us a favour’: Royal family don’t want Duke of Sussex at Charles’ coronation

A source said this week: “The (royal) family is waiting for Harry and Meghan to come up with a reason not to be there.”

Prince Harry seems that he will not be welcome at his father’s coronation Charles in May, given his attack on his own family in his new book, a source told the Sun newspaper.

Senior members of the royal family are not considering spending time with Harry at the historic coronation event, in case talks between them “end up … on the paperback” version of his controversial memoir, the Sun reported.

However, it is not yet clear if Charles really does not want his youngest son at the coronation, or even if Prince Harry will agree to attend.

The Duke of Sussex has unleashed a barrage of US media appearances, as well as a barrage of attacks on the royal family, to promote his best-selling memoir Spare.

But so far, he has not made it clear whether he will attend his father’s coronation ceremony. The Duke of Sussex famously said that “a lot can happen before then” when asked if he will attend his father’s coronation in May.

A source said this week: “The (royal) family is waiting for Harry and Meghan to come up with a reason to … not be there.”

Harry’s family are said to have been surprised and hurt by the details about their lives that he has revealed in the public sphere.

A source told The Sun: “There have been discussions between the family… They don’t want private conversations at the coronation to get into in the paperback edition of Spare’.
