Famous Law and Orders actor’s relationship with Albert Einstein – What he revealed

The special relationship he had with the most famous scientist of the last century, Albert Einsteinthe Law and Order actor revealed, Josh Pais.

Pais’ father was the Dutch-born physicist, professor and author Abraham Pais, who survived the Holocaust and went on to collaborate with Nobel Prize winning physicists Niels Bohr and Albert Einstein.

“He was hiding in Amsterdam (during World War II),” Pais told the Page Six , at the premiere of “Plane” in New York. “It was a block or two from Anne Frank,” he added.

Abraham and three others were betrayed in March 1945, however, that same week, American troops crossed the Rhine River and cut the railroad tracks, making it impossible to transport them to a concentration camp. He was then interrogated by the Gestapo, Nazi Germany’s secret police, for a month and released just days before the end of the war.

“After the war, he went to Copenhagen and worked with Niels Bohr,” Pais explained, “and then from there, [φυσικός] Robert Oppenheimer invited him to the Institute for Advanced Studies in Princeton. And then, there he worked with Einstein for 11 years.”

His star “Law & Order” she says she unfortunately never met Einstein, but saw his picture in family photo albums.

Pais recalls that his late father’s favorite memory of working with Einstein occurred toward the end of the famous scientist’s life.

“Einstein had gotten kind of sick and my dad went to see him,” she told us. “He opened his bedroom door and Einstein was in bed doing calculations. And then they hung out for about 20 minutes and just chatted.

And then my dad said goodbye and went to the door and looked back at Einstein and Einstein had gone back to calculating. And there’s something so beautiful about that.”
