Clooney and his wife Amal bought the Domaine de Cannadel estate in the Brignole region in 2021, just months before the devastating floods

Jeremy Giuliano, mayor of Le Val in southeastern France, revealed George Clooney’s donation after the floods that the region suffered, describing his contribution as “enormous”.

The area was hit by flash floods in October 2021. The actor donated €20,000 to house residents for six months while they repaired their homes. Notably, the actor’s vineyard is located near the area.

The mayor told the Times that at first the donation was not made known, as the actor did not want it to be made public. “Now we are in the phase of rebuilding the city and that is why I pushed to say this, so that the affected people know who made this donation.”

Clooney and his wife Amal bought the Domaine de Cannadel estate in the Brignole region in 2021, just months before the devastating floods for €6.2 million, according to Tatler. The estate includes an 18th-century farmhouse, olive grove, swimming pool, tennis court and a 25-acre vineyard. It is only a 30-minute drive from Brad Pitt’s famous estate and close to director and producer George Lucas’ Chateau Margui.
