Paulo Betti pins Regina Duarte after actress publish fake: ‘Aren’t you ashamed?’

by

Actress Regina Duarte decided to publish false information on her Instagram profile about a possible increase in prison aid, something that has not yet been confirmed. “Aid to outlaws, murderers, thieves. Bandit has been raised. What about the minimum wage for good people?”, she wrote.

Facebook itself classified the post as a lie. And actor Paulo Betti nudged his acting colleague. “Fake! Regina, aren’t you ashamed of being in the way? Weren’t you satisfied with the vandalism in Brasilia?”, He wrote.

On January 9, at the beginning of the coup demonstrations in Brasília, Regina shared a video in which she praised the now ex-president, Jair Bolsonaro (PL). In it, she showed a passage of the politician in the United States and the affection received by supporters. “If it continues like this, Bolsonaro will end up being president of the USA, and we will be the losers”, read the caption.

Regina even wrote that calm was needed. “He may have looked crazy, but he always fought for the four lines. The Constitution will stop him. Always”, she amended. With that, many people decided to criticize Regina’s post, which happened practically at the same time as the acts of coup leaders who entered the Esplanada dos Ministérios, invaded the Planalto Palace, Congress and the STF (Supreme Federal Court), spread acts of vandalism in Brasilia and clashed with the Military Police.

The next day, she returned to sharing misinformation on her social media. In a publication, she reproduced a video that compared the situation in Brazil with a supposed submission of Jews to the Holocaust.

The author of the video says that Brazil submits to what she called “dismantling” of the Legislative and Judicial Powers. “We’ve been thinking for three years that things are going to get better, and things are getting worse and worse,” the video read.

The video was by Bolsonarist Eliane Benatti, who, like Regina Duarte, identifies as conservative. In the caption of the publication, Duarte said that education, information and communication are the “lifebuoys” in the face of the “terror that may be approaching”.
