Youtuber and businessman Luccas Neto, 29, will dub his productions available in Portugal with the linguistic variation of the Portuguese language in the country, according to his press office confirmed to F5. Dubbing should be done in 2022, and not just in Portuguese from Portugal.
In November of this year, the Portuguese newspaper Diário de NotÃcias pointed out that Portuguese children would only be speaking “Brazilian” due to YouTuber productions. “For next year, the company [Luccas Toon] will dub all of our YouTube episodes, plus movies and series,” he said.
The press office stated that the dubbing “is part of the internationalization process of his brand, due to the great international reach in different countries that he has conquered”. Neto has over 19 billion views on YouTube.
In an interview with the newspaper O Globo, he stated that because he works with the children’s universe, he preferred not to get involved in the controversy. “I decided to find a solution: we decided to dub our episodes and films in Portuguese from Portugal”, he said.
YouTubers have dual citizenship, and their maternal grandmother is Portuguese, according to the newspaper. He recently released his 13th film, entitled “Hotel Mágico 2”, and it is already available in both Brazil and Portugal.​
