Employees at a McDonald’s unit in Aspen, United States, were surprised by singer Mariah Carey, who went there to try the franchise’s Christmas menu, which bears her name.
Along with her children and assistants, the interpreter of “All I Want for Christmas” decided to play pranks with the employees before revealing her identity. The fast food store is promoting 12 days of franchise product offerings in honor of Carey, also famous for her Christmas hits.
First, her 10-year-old daughter ordered the drive-thru — which, in the US, is done by voice only — in a chaotic, screaming way with a lot of New York accent. She asks for a hat and a shirt that should have been sold along with “The Mariah Menu”, but the attendant doesn’t understand and asks her to leave the establishment and not come back.
As they parked, the singer’s two Brazilian assistants tried to confuse the attendants by placing orders in Portuguese.
With a long red dress and black mask, both quite shiny, the singer joined the family in the franchise. “Hope I’m not too fancy for the occasion,” he said jokingly. “I just want a hamburger and I don’t know who to order it from.”
She then asked to speak with the store manager, who soon recognized her and showed her the promotional gifts and personalized bags. The singer greeted the employees, stopped to take pictures and wished them happy holidays.
This Wednesday (22), Mariah Carey also had other reasons to celebrate. The single “All I Want for Christmas” hit the 1 billionth spotify spot. “Thank you to everyone who played this song for adding a little bit of festivity to this moment,” the singer wrote on her Instagram profile.
