The peak of Taygetos or otherwise “Pyramid” is located at an altitude of 2,407 meters. It is perhaps the most impressive mountain peak in Greece and the most mysterious at the same time, since it is accompanied by an unsolved, for thousands of years, riddle.

Is the ultimate pyramid, which is formed on the top of Taygetus, a play of nature or a gigantic human construction, which surpasses in dimension and degree of difficulty of construction any imagination?

The images from the top of Taygetus, which is “dressed” in white, are truly captivating and ignite the human imagination.

A large number of researchers claim that the peak of Prophet Ilias (2407 m. high), was carved, either in whole or in part, in order to obtain a pyramid shape and function ritually and worshipfully.

This, as they say, is “proved by the absolute regularity of the pyramid” (visually, it is a perfect isosceles triangle) and above all, “by the artificial leveling of its base”, where the ground is relatively smoother and smoother.

This portion speaks of a megalithic monument, like those found throughout Europe, in the period 3,500 – 2,000 BC. In any case, both the age of the pyramid and its original dimensions are impossible to calculate.
