Queen Victoria, who oversaw the expansion of the British Empire and made critical reforms to the monarchy, reigned from 1837 until her death in 1901.

The paintings are accompanied by a letter of provenance in which Alexander Mountbatten, Marquess of Carisbrooke and Queen Victoria’s last surviving grandson, reportedly identified them as her work, according to the Evening Standard.

Following the death of Princess Beatrice, Queen Victoria’s youngest daughter, items from the family’s Isle of Wight country estate were sold in 1945.

Royal works and artifacts were purchased decades ago by the seller’s grandfathersaid Hansons London deputy director Chris Kirkham.

According to the Royal Collection Trust, the UK royal family’s private art collection, domestic life was a common theme in the Queen’s watercolors and drawings.

Hansons Auctioneers’ auction will take place on January 28.
