Former pawn of the reality show “A Fazenda”, shown in 2012, José Lucas Dias Barreto was temporarily arrested on Monday (23), in Niterói, in the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro, on suspicion of torturing and assaulting his son of five years.
The information was confirmed to F5 by the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro. In a note, the corporation said that José hid in the Rato Molhado community when he learned that he was being investigated. The alert was issued by a nursing team at an emergency room in the municipality of São Gonçalo, who became suspicious when the boy was admitted to the unit with a fracture in his body.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office in Rio de Janeiro is investigating the case and the process continues in secrecy because it involves a child. Health professionals noticed that the child had several suspicious marks on the body, such as scars from possible burns caused by cigarettes. Upon arriving at the hospital, Barreto claimed that his son broke his arm when the two were playing “wrestling”.
The professionals also said that José presented a disturbed behavior and slapped the boy three times. He would have told his son “you will pay me”, while making a sign with his hands, as if he was going to cut his throat.
The report was unable to locate the defense of the accused.
