Recently, the Saint Laurent fashion house – owned by the Kering group – presented its first men’s collection in Paris under current creative director Anthony Vaccarello there.

In the rotunda, a continuous flow of seating in the form of a black-leather modular ‘snakes’ around the inner perimeter of the 29-metre-wide, nine-metre-high cylindrical space, with concrete walls, created by Ando. A stone-hued carpet covered the floor where the fashion show took place.

It was dimly lit by spotlights mounted on the wall behind the single row of seats, while a grand piano took center stage beneath the 19th-century fresco that adorns the rotunda ceiling.

“Art and Saint Laurent have been partners from the beginning and this makes Japanese architect Tandao Ando’s ground-breaking structure-within-a-structure a natural setting for tonight’s comprehensive and enjoyable presentation,” he said in the show notes. the House.
