‘Shrinking’: Harrison Ford and Jason Segel Star in Amazing Comedy – Watch Video

by

Shrinking will premiere on Apple TV+ on January 27

Harrison Fordknown for playing Han Solo and Indiana Jones, stayed away from television after the 1990s.

He currently stars in 1923 with Helen Mirren, but will also be seen in the new Apple TV+ comedy Shrinking, co-starring Jason Segel, and will be shown on January 27 from the Apple TV platform.

And while Ford’s participation in an Apple sitcom may be the hot news, the real star is actually Segel. The How I Met Your Mother star plays Jimmy Laird, a therapist dealing with his own grief and personal issues.

When he reaches his limits Jimmy gets tired and resentful of the rules of the job and starts to ignore the ethics of the profession so he starts telling his clients exactly what he thinks. The consequences and unexpected changes in both his patients’ lives and his own are episodic.

Jimmy’s new outlook on life isn’t entirely his own: Dr. Paul Rhodes (Ford) notices that Jimmy’s life seems to be falling apart and steps in to help turn things around. With Paul’s advice, Jimmy begins to be brutally honest with his patients, and as seen in the trailer when he counsels a client (Heidi Gardner) about her relationship, telling her: “Your husband is emotionally abusive, he doesn’t work, he won’t change, just leave him.”

Things seem to be starting to spiral out of control as his fellow therapists notice that Jimmy’s actions are becoming increasingly unethical and harmful – but Jimmy feels that his patients are progressing normally and are happy.

Along with the lead duo of Segel and Ford, the 10-episode Shrinking will also star Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie (Deadly Class), Michael Urie (Ugly Betty) and Christia Miller (Scrubs). Created by Brett Goldstein and Bill Lawerence, responsible for Apple TV+’s little wonder Ted Lasso.

Shrinking will premiere on Apple TV+ on January 27.
