Interior design trends for 2022 according to Yelp and Jeremiah Brent (Pics)

by

In December 2020, Yelp data was used to “decipher” the interior design trends that came with the pandemic.

The pandemic is not over, but its aesthetically strong influence on our homes seems to be diminishing, at least gradually.

In view of 2022, it seems that there is a pause in the renovations related to staying (at least the obligatory) at home and the return to the aesthetic -more- interventions seems to be a one-way street.

Yelp, which has just released its 2022 Home Trend Prediction Report, describes in detail the interior trends for the coming year, with the help of interior designer Jeremiah Brent.

“Analyzing the rich data of Yelp, I saw that it reflects many of the trends that I had started to use in my recent design projects. “In 2022 we expect to see dusty blue in color and different textures will play their part, along with the integration of raw materials such as stone,” says Brent.

“People are drawn to the ‘lagom’ lifestyle by embracing the celebration of less is more and functional simplicity when it comes to designing and decorating the home.”

Intense, special and bright wallpapers

Wallpaper searches have increased by 167%, and this trend is expected to continue in 2022. Adding wallpaper to a hallway, bathroom or bedroom offers instant renewal and allows you to show off your style and personality in a somewhat fun way. .

Lagom is the new hygge

Although hygge has come to stay, Yelp has seen searches using the term “lagom” increase by 33% in just 2 months and this trend is expected to be present throughout 2022. Lagom – which literally translates to the term “moderate” – created by less is more temperament.

Japandi

With lagom on the rise, it is no wonder that searches for Japandi design have seen a 27% increase. It is a combination of Scandinavian functionality and Japanese rustic minimalism to create a sense of art, nature and simplicity.

Textured plaster finishes are a great way to add a Japandi feel to any room in the house, as the style is based on minimalist principles, with an emphasis on warm elements and quiet color palettes.
