Jaafar: Michael Jackson’s Nephew to Play King of Pop in ‘Michael’ Movie

Michael Jackson’s nephew, Jafar, will act the King of Pop in Lionsgate’s biopic “Michael.” directed by Antoine Fuqua. He is the son of singer, producer and member of the Jackson 5, Jermaine Jackson. “He has a natural ability to impersonate Michael,” Fuqua told Variety, “and incredible chemistry with the lens.”

She was born in Los Angeles, California in July 1996. Deadline notes that she has been singing and dancing since the age of 12. In 2019 he released his first song titled “Got Me Singing”.

He wrote on social media about his first starring role that “I am so honored to bring my Uncle Michael’s story to life.”

According to Lionsgate’s announcement, the film will chronicle all aspects of the life of the King of Pop who died in 2009. The script will be written by John Logan and produced by Oscar winner Graham King with the Jackson estate.

“I met Jafar two years ago and I was blown away by the way he embodies the spirit and personality of Michael,” King told Variety, noting that “he’s the only person who can take on this role.”

Filming on the film will begin this year, according to AP.
