The terms and conditions of the financial support of theaters, music stages, dance theaters, concert halls, performance halls, cinema companies and film distributors with a total amount of 20 million for 2021 are provided by a Joint Ministerial Decision of the Ministries of Finance, Labor and Social Affairs and Sports and State published in the Government Gazette (Β ‘6231 / 24.12.2021).
The aim is to support businesses and professionals in specific fields of culture from the negative effects of the coronavirus pandemic, with the main “tool” subsidizing vacancies in theaters, cinemas, etc.

It is noted that following the publication of the decision, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs will make a first payment of 2.6 million euros on Tuesday, December 28 for the support of theaters, music stages, etc. for the period January-November 2021, after the completion of the necessary controls.
The basic provisions of the JMC
a) For theaters, music stages, dance theaters, concert halls and performance venues, a fixed amount of 10 euros per spectator / ticket is provided, regardless of the ticket price and for a total maximum of 24 performances per month, as follows:
1. For the period January-May 2021, it is provided for the aforementioned companies that were closed by order of a public authority and meet the specified conditions (legal licensing, turnover in 2020 at least 20% compared to 2019), payment corresponding to 20% of the total spectator / ticket seats of each show, as they result from the license.
2. For the period June-December 2021 is provided for companies that operated for some periods during this period, the payment to the producer of the show an amount corresponding to 40% of the total spectator seats / tickets of each show. In case of a closed business, an amount corresponding to 20% of the total spectator / ticket seats is paid to the company that manages the room.
b) For film companies, a fixed amount of 4 euros per spectator / ticket is provided, per screening and up to 40 screenings per month, as follows:
1. For the period January-May 2021, the total amount corresponding to 10% of the total spectator / ticket seats is paid to the company that manages the hall.
2. For the period June-December 2021, for companies that operated within this period, a total amount corresponding to 20% of the total spectator / ticket seats is paid. For companies that remained closed for periods within the aforementioned period, a total amount corresponding to 10% of the total spectator / ticket seats is paid.
c) For film distributors, financial support is foreseen for the period January-December 2021, covering 40% of the difference between the reduction of the turnover of the year 2020 compared to 2019.
