After finishing her performance the singer took some time to talk to the audience and explain what happened. “When I walk through the crowd,” he said, pausing and beginning to huff.
“I wish you could see what I saw. I know I talk to a few people every night, but then I just see little stories. There was a man. He’s there — can you see him holding his phone up?” Adele added, starting to cry.
“I think it’s his wife on his phone and I don’t think she’s here, and that really moved me,” he said.
“Looks like you’re here alone and I’m so sorry,” she continued. “I’m so sorry for your loss and I’m so sorry I didn’t realize what you were showing me until I got there. I see these little aspects of people’s lives and it’s so beautiful.”
