BBB 23: Justice pledges possible prizes and fees for MC Guimê on the program

MC Guimê did not win and will not win the possible prizes and fees of the BBB 23. This is because two businessmen filed a lawsuit claiming that the singer owed an approximate amount of R$ 2.9 million.

The money from the outstanding installments would come from a property in the Alphaville condominium that Guimê bought in 2016. The residence was purchased for R$ 2.2 million and, according to the owners, the participant would have failed to pay around R$ 777 thousand.

The decision was taken by judges from the TJSP (São Paulo Court of Justice) and the amount must be deposited by Globo and Endemol (the company that owns the BBB format) in a judicial account.

The creditors went to court demanding the rescission of the property contract and the payment of compensation for fruition, that is, for the time he used the property. In October 2020, he was convicted in the first instance, according to the UOL portal. The process proceeds in secrecy of justice.

“The appellant (MC Guimê) assumed, by his own free will, the purchase of the property and did not pay all of its installments, an incontrovertible fact”, declared in the decision the judge Coelho Mendes, rapporteur of the process.

The singer’s legal team later filed a new appeal claiming that he “failed to honor the final installments of the contract” because the creditors did not deliver the property with some renovations that had been agreed and, with that, Guimê deducted the value of the modifications.

The lawyers also claimed that the enjoyment of 1% per month on the value of the contract is “abusive”. Again, the artist did not pay the agreed amount, so the attachment was requested.
