Accusations of sexual abuse and racism threaten the casting of a star in the second season of ‘Wandinha’

by

Netflix officially announced the second season of “Wandinha”, the platform’s 2nd most successful in English language audience, on January 6th. But the casting of Percy Hynes White, 21, the production’s star alongside Jenna Ortega, is under threat.

The interpreter of the character Xavier Thorpe became news in the world press after accusations of sexual abuse and racism were made against him on social media. Two alleged victims said that the actor from the popular series organized parties just to get the girls drunk so that he and his friends would practice violence.

Twitter user @milkievich was the first to post about the cases. Afterwards, several netizens began to investigate the actor’s profiles and new details came to light. Another alleged victim even shared her account. “It hurts to see this man in the public eye and admired by hundreds of thousands of girls,” he wrote.

“He let me get raped in his basement and when he called me about it he was more concerned about the police and not whether I was okay,” she continued. Another person reported several events involving Hynes since he was a student at a high school in Toronto, Canada, which are apparently being investigated. Netizens also accuse the actor of allegedly following supremacist pages.

Following those allegations, a video of White being a bit inappropriate with co-star Jenna Ortega while the two attended the Golden Globes after-party in early January surfaced on social media and caused even more buzz.
