The new stamps featuring the portrait of King Charles were officially released by the royal family on social media.

“The feedback we received (s.s. from Karolos) was that he wanted it to be simple. It’s a very human image, without embellishment,” said the director of external affairs at Royal Mail.

He added: “What sets this stamp apart is that there is no adornment, no crown, just the face and the human figure, on a plain background, as if to say: ‘This is me and I am at your service.’ I think in this modern age, it’s very humbling.”
