“The feedback we received (s.s. from Karolos) was that he wanted it to be simple. It’s a very human image, without embellishment,” said the director of external affairs at Royal Mail.
He added: “What sets this stamp apart is that there is no adornment, no crown, just the face and the human figure, on a plain background, as if to say: ‘This is me and I am at your service.’ I think in this modern age, it’s very humbling.”
