The funk artist Mc Pipokinha made a new statement, on social networks, about the way she treated sexual harassment in an interview. This Wednesday (15), the artist spoke about the subject to the podcast Creators and said that harassment “is the most normal thing that exists”.
“It’s up to you to defend yourself. (…) There will always be someone wanting to cross the line. If you don’t know how to deal with harassment, say ‘no, no’, then don’t wear short clothes. It’s not like that,” he said. Mc Pipokinha. This statement yielded several negative comments on the networks, accusing her of sexism.
This Thursday, the funk producer returned to talk about the subject on her profile. With a live on Instagram, she said she is against any kind of harassment. “It means that it’s normal because I’m used to seeing it in every corner. I have access and I’m used to people messing with me without my will. Even in well-behaved clothes, if the guy wants to mess with me, he will move”, she pointed out.
Mc Pipokinha again insisted on his thesis. “Harassment is very normal, but that doesn’t mean I agree. It means it’s everywhere, you can’t hide it. I’m sure you know someone who has experienced harassment. It’s something that’s all around us, that’s happening.”
