A couple like any other! Kate Middleton and Prince William starred in a funny moment on the red carpet at the Bafta film festival, last Sunday (19) in London. The Prince of Wales was patted on the Princess’s bottom.
As they passed photographers and fans, Kate spoke into her husband’s ear and tried to take his hand, but was ignored. Quickly, the princess made a gesture so common, but unexpected for a royal couple who have to follow protocols, and gave her husband a loving pat.
The two wore luxury attire for the event that honored Queen Elizabeth II. The princess drew attention for revamping a white dress by designer Alexandre McQueen that she had already worn in 2012. Details on the shoulder and vintage gloves were used to modify the look.
Another detail drew attention in Kate’s look: the flower-shaped earrings. Known for mixing haute couture elements with affordable accessories, she chose earrings from Zara, sold in stores for US$28 (approximately R$145 at current exchange rates).
The British Academy Film Award, better known as the Bafta, took place at the Royal Festival Hall, an event center in London. Prince William has been President of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts since 2010.
