Carnaval 2023: Film about Zeca Pagodinho will have Juliana Knust in the role of Mônica, the singer’s wife

The film about the life of Zeca Pagodinho is still at its very beginning, in the script phase, but one thing is already certain. Actress Juliana Knust will play Monica, the singer’s wife. Zeca loved the choice. “She is a very good friend of him, of the family, of all the people there”, says director Mauro Lima, at the Sambódromo in Rio de Janeiro, to the F5in the early hours of this Tuesday (21).

Honored by Grande Rio on the first day of fashion shows at Sapucaí, Zeca is not giving any hints about the feature film – neither asked nor forbade anything. “But he has already made some remarks to the producers, he is very precise with some details, even small things”, explains the filmmaker.

Without wanting to give away spoilers, Mauro also says that the film (with the rest of the cast still to be cast) will feature his friendship and partnerships with composer Beto Sem Braço, his childhood stories, his relationship with Xerém and episodes already folklore of his life.

Zeca’s superstitious side, almost an OCD, won’t be left out either. “It’s a very significant feature of his personality”, says Lima. If everything goes as expected, the film will be released in 2023, the year in which Zeca completes 40 years of career.
