Liam Neeson has trained Jedi, fought against Batman, led revolutions, hunted down kidnappers and fought countless villains.

Now, with the release of Neil Jordan’s gripping noir thriller Marlowe, the Irish actor has reached an impressive personal record by starring in his 100th film.

“Honestly, I feel old and incredibly lucky,” the much-loved 70-year-old actor told Vanity Fair during a special screening of Marlowe in New York on Wednesday afternoon.

“I was lucky. I never forget that. I also know that I made my own luck».

It is worth noting that the actor revealed that he had never considered the possibility of making a film career in his early years as an artist.

“My ambition, if I can say I had one, was to join the National Theater of Britain,” he explains, adding that the 1981 film Excalibur finally introduced him to film magic.

“There were shiny suits of armour, horses and sword fights,” he recalls. “It was heaven and that captivated me”

Liam Neeson however, it appears that he has no intention of reprising his role as Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn in a Star Wars spinoff TV series any time soon.

During a recent appearance on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,” Liam Neeson criticized the expansion strategy of the Star Wars franchise, arguing that it is weakening it.

“No, I’m not interested,” the Northern Irish actor said when asked if he’d be interested in a spinoff series for Disney+.

“There are so many Star Wars spinoffs. They water it down and take away the mystery and the magic in a weird way,” he said.

Speaking about his surprise appearance at the end of the ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ series, Liam Neeson said it was “nice” to reprise the role and star alongside Ewan McGregor after more than two decades. “It was nice to work with Ewan after 24 years,” he said.
