The Rolling Stones both living Beatles –Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr– are reportedly joining forces on a new album, according to Variety. Paul McCartney has already recorded the bass tracks for the project, led by Andrew Watt, who received a 2021 Grammy for Producer of the Year, according to reports.

The legendary performers have attended recording sessions in Los Angeles in recent weeks and the album is now entering the mixing phase. It is unknown if Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr’s parts will be included on the same song or if their contributions will be presented separately.

In 2021, Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger stated that the band had “a lot of songs lined up” for the album.

Last month, guitarist Keith Richards excited fans with an Instagram post that confirmed “new music is on the way.”

Additionally, Paul McCartney, who has collaborated with Watt several times in the past, confirmed that he was recording new music with “some people” during a Q&A posted on his official website late last year.

“I’ve recorded with some people so I’m looking forward to doing more,” he said. “I started working with a producer called Andrew Watt and it’s very interesting, we had fun,” he noted.

Andrew Whatman, or Watt, who won a Grammy this year for his collaboration with Ozzy Osbourne, has become the producer of choice for rock veterans, reports Variety, despite having a discography that leans heavily into pop. such as Justin Bieber’s “Peaches” and Dua Lipa’s “Break My Heart.”

The guitar virtuoso has appeared on albums by Pearl Jam, Iggy Pop and has also worked closely with Elton John.
