Flexible space for Qian Hu Zhi Wu immersive game company set up Cun Panda Studio in the Chinese city of Xiamen; the company operates 14 escape rooms in China, and the new 330 square meter space was designed with flexibility in mind to enable a range of game narratives to be realized.
“We aim to create space that can tell stories” said the studio. “The design adds extraordinary imagination and creativity to the space, incorporating art and an immersive experience.”
At the entrance to the space, a giant tree made of resin and covered in silver paper rises piercing the ceiling. Lighting installations were designed as satellites and planets around the tree, giving it a futuristic feel.
The tree is surrounded by a series of rock formations inspired by Stonehenge. “Stonehenge is taken as the model to open the interwoven space that leads to the new world to create a portal to the dimensions of the virtual and the real,” explained the studio.
Cun Panda was founded in 2019 by Xuanna Cai and Jiacheng Lin; it has offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Kunming and Xiamen.
