Shawn Mendes vents about difficulty dealing with social media

by

Shawn Mendes, 23, used Instagram on Friday (31) to thank fans for supporting his latest single “It’ll Be Okay” E and to talk about how difficult social media is at the moment — he and Camila Cabello their two-year relationship ended in November.

“I’m having a bit of a struggle with social media right now and just hanging out with it. But I have a lot of people sending me videos and telling me what’s going on,” he said from his home in Toronto.

The singer said that when he makes music the ultimate goal is for his own truth to be revealed to himself. “And a lot of times when I’m writing songs, I usually use music as a platform to get to a place inside of me that I wouldn’t be able to just talk to people or think about it,” the artist said.

Shawn said he’s proud of the new song and very grateful that people are connecting with it. “I feel so grateful that people are vulnerable to her and that they are just having fun.”

The artist ended the video saying that he recorded the message to show his love and affection for the fans. “I see you guys and how much love you’re giving this song and me. It means the world to me. So thank you, I love you.”
