Shantal Verdelho says her husband undergoes therapy after a case of obstetric violence

​Model Shantal Verdelho, 32, returned to social media to comment more on the case of obstetric violence she claims to have suffered during the birth of her second daughter, Doménica, in September 2021.

Asked by a follower what the reaction of her husband, also model Mateus Verdelho, 38, was, she said that he now needs to undergo therapy to overcome all the emotional shock he suffered.

“He was as vulnerable as I was. The life and health of his wife and daughter were in the doctor’s hands. What would he do? Fight? He’s a victim just like me. He’s in therapy because of that. everything is very shaken,” he said.

According to her, it is not easy for Mateus to wonder what he could have done when he learned of the case. “It happens that in these moments there is a hierarchy and when they are dealing with the life of someone you love, you are simply hostage to any behavior of the other person. I think he had the best attitude,” he added.

Shantal filed a request for a police investigation to investigate the conduct of the labor of the second child by obstetrician Renato Kalil, in mid-September. In excerpts of leaked audio from a conversation between friends, the influencer claims to have suffered obstetric violence when she was repeatedly called names by the doctor.

“It took me a while to realize what had happened because at the time of the birth I was in another dimension. There were several very bad postures and my birth turned out to be horrible. If I show you [o vídeo], you’re going to sit down and cry,” she tells her friends in an audio clip.

Shantal has been married to Mateus since 2017. In addition to Domênica, they are also parents of Filippo, who will turn three in January.
