The famous Welsh actor Anthony Hopkins claimed that his daughter, Abigail Hopkinswith whom they have been estranged for several years, ignored an invitation from him to reconcile.

“My wife, Stella [Αρογιάβ]sent an invitation [στην Άμπιγκεϊλ] to come and see us”said the “Silence of the Lambs” actor in an interview with the New York Times.

“Not a word of reply. So I think, “Okay, fine.” I wish her the best, but I’m not going to waste time on it. If you want to waste your life in discontent, fine, go ahead”he emphasized.

Anthony – who has daughter Abigail, 57, with first wife Petronella Barker – noted that he tries not to carry “resentment about the past” because that is “death”.

“You are not alive. You have to recognize one thing: that we are imperfect”, noted.

“We are not saints. We are all sinners and saints or whatever we are. We are doing the best we can.”

The “Hannibal” star said he believed he “did everything he could” to resolve the issues with his daughter and wants Abigail to “get over it.”

“Life is painful… Sometimes people get hurt. Sometimes we get hurt.” he noticed.

“But you can’t live like this. You have to say, “Get over it.” And if you can’t get over it, well, good luck to you. I don’t judge. But I did my best. That’s all. That’s all I want to say.”

The Oscar-winning actor was then asked if he hoped his daughter would read his upcoming memoir, We Did Ok, Kid, next month, and replied: “I’m not going to answer that. No. I don’t care.”
