“It’s clear there’s still a lot of training to be done,” he can be heard saying in a video his wife posted on social media. “So this message goes out to the photographers and videographers who are trying to get these ‘exclusives’ for my husband. Please hold your space. I know this is your job, but please don’t yell at my husband asking how he’s doing or anything. Don’t do this.
Give him his space. Allow our family or whoever is with him that day to be able to get him from point A to point B safely,” Bruce Willis’ wife said, among other things.
It was a year ago when the actor’s family announced that he had been diagnosed with aphasia, which is a neurological disease that hinders his communication and intellect. It has since progressed to dementia. His wife was asking for help on how to handle the situation.

His family and friends have become the “shield” of protection for the actor, who was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia. The ‘Die Hard’ star’s family has focused on helping him live as normal a life as possible.
“The important thing for Bruce is to keep him active. She has a busy schedule with activities every day. We make sure that both his body and his brain are trained,” a person close to the actor told “People” magazine.

“Bruce always used his ‘voice’ to help anyone in need. We know in our hearts that – if he could today – he would want to raise awareness of this debilitating disease to everyone he can and let everyone know how it affects so many people and their families,” the family said in a recent statement.
“Bruce always found joy in life. It means everything to us to see that sense of caring reflected in him and all of us. We are so touched by your love for our beloved husband, father and friend during this difficult time. Your compassion, understanding and respect will enable us to help Bruce live as full a life as possible.”
