The woman who accused American songwriter Bob Dylan of constantly sexually abusing her in New York decades ago, when she was just 12, has widened the time frame for the alleged abuse – after previous reports that the singer was missing on tour during her allegations, show new court documents.
The 68-year-old woman – who filed a lawsuit last August with the initials JC – claimed that the “Blowin ‘in the Wind” singer gave her drugs and alcohol before sexually abusing her several times in his Chelsea hotel apartment over a six-week period. , in April and May 1965.
Shortly afterwards, reports surfaced that the 80-year-old musician had been on tour for most of April and May of that year. However, the alleged victim’s lawyer, Daniel Isaacs, insisted that his client’s allegations were true, and that there was enough time between the dates of the tour for the alleged abuse to take place.
Last week, Isaacs modified JC’s lawsuit, saying the alleged abuse occurred “over a period of several months in the spring of 1965,” compared to the previous wording in the original lawsuit – which referred to “a period of six weeks. between April and May 1965 “, according to documents submitted to the Manhattan Supreme Court.
A Dylan spokesman commented: “The amended complaint recycles the same fabricated allegations as the original complaint filed in August. “They were as fake then as they are now. “We will pursue all legal options, including sanctions against the lawyers behind this shameful, defamatory and opportunistic case.”
