A confession about how difficult it was to put an end to her marriage was made by Emily Ratajkowskistating that she was really unhappy.

Last September, Emily Ratajkowski and producer Sebastian Bear McClard split after four years of marriage. The couple has a son.

“I didn’t have the courage to leave for a long time. I was really unhappy,” Ratajkowski said in an interview on the Going Mental With Eileen Kelly podcast. “I was about 45kg and had just had a baby. I got really skinny because I wasn’t well.”

“I tried to take anti-depressants,” she said, explaining that “I was trying to do everything to be happy.” “I was sure something was wrong with me. What I learned, coming out of that relationship, is to trust your instincts,” she said.

Emily Ratajkowski also referred to society’s pressure, “from the moment we are born”, to “find a partner who completes and affirms you”. Which made it harder for her to break up. “Besides, I had just had a child. I really wanted to have a family, so it was especially hard for me to leave,” he noted.

As for how she finally made the decision to get a divorce, she said it was when a line was crossed. “For me, it was so clear and then it became more and more clear, which was good,” he said, without elaborating.
