Betty White: Agent tells cause of death and denies relationship with Covid vaccine

The actress Betty White, one of the great names of American TV, who died last Friday (31) had the cause of her death revealed by her advisor and longtime friend, Jeff Witjas. “Betty died peacefully in her sleep, in her home,” he said.

In an interview with the People website, Witjas denies rumors that the death would have anything to do with the Covid-19 vaccine. “People are saying that her death was related to the fact that she took the third dose three days earlier, but that’s not true,” he adds.

“She died of natural causes. Her death shouldn’t be politicized, that’s not the life she lived,” added the advisor. The artist would turn 100 on January 17th and was considered the longest-running career actress in TV history, with nearly 80 years of longevity.

She made her first show in 1939, and has starred in several productions since then. Her most prominent role was in the sitcom “Supercats” (originally “The Golden Girls”), where she played Rose Nylund.

Her last works were with voice acting in animations, participating in films such as “Toy Story 4” and “Trouble”, both in 2019. The actress withdrew from public life during the pandemic, isolating herself at home for safety.

In an interview with TMZ, Witjas said in November this year that Betty occupied her days at home with reading, television and crosswords. He admitted, however, that the pandemic left her alone, unable to have contact with friends.

His 100th birthday was already starting to be celebrated in his native country. On December 28, she made the cover of People magazine, with the headline: “Betty White Turns 100!” To the magazine, which lamented her death on Friday, Betty had said that she is “lucky to have such good health and to feel so good at this age”.

The actress was adored in the United States for her irreverent personality and humor, which seemed unaffected by the passage of time. She continued making comic characters in modern series like “Community” in 2010 and “Eu, a Mistress and Children” in 2004.

Betty won 34 awards for her acting and show presentation. Of these, six were Emmys: the first in 1975, then in 1976, 1986, as a lead actress in “Supercats”, 1996 and 2010 for her appearance on Saturday Night Live, as well as entering the Hall of Fame.
