Coronavirus: How much does the fourth dose of the vaccine increase antibodies – What does an Israeli study show

by

A fourth dose of Covid-19 vaccine causes antibodies to increase fivefold one week after vaccination, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said today, citing preliminary findings from an Israeli study.

“One week after the fourth dose, we know with a higher degree of certainty that the fourth dose is safe,” said Bennett at the Sheba Medical Center, where he is receiving a second booster dose as part of a trial between his staff in the middle of a increase in Omicron variant infections in the country.

“The second news: We know that a week after the fourth dose, we see a fivefold increase in the number of antibodies in the person who was vaccinated,” he told reporters.

“Most likely this means a significant increase in his action against infection and … hospitalization and (serious) symptoms,” Bennett said in English.

Israel is playing a leading role in studying the effects of the Covid-19 vaccine, as it is the fastest-growing two-dose vaccine in a wider population a year ago and one of the first to administer third, booster doses. It now administers fourth doses of the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine to people over the age of 60, healthcare professionals and immunocompromised patients.
