Roberto Carlos’ Bolsonarist cover is sentenced to pay R$ 15,000 for offending Miriam Leitão

Bolsonarist cover of singer Roberto Carlos, José Luiz Bonito, also known by the stage name of Roberto Boni, was sentenced to pay compensation of R$ 15,000 to Globo journalist Miriam Leitão.

In 2018, in a YouTube video, he offended her and called her a “terrorist”. He also accused her of having been arrested during the military dictatorship for an alleged bank robbery, something that has already been denied by the broadcaster itself.

According to information from the São Paulo Court of Justice, Boni was sentenced to two and a half years in prison, but the sentence was changed to restriction of rights. He will also have to pay a fine equivalent to R$ 6,500, in addition to providing services to the community. Appeal is possible.

In the document obtained by F5, Miriam claims that she never participated in any crime and that this slander caused moral damage and reputational disorders. And that she felt offended as a woman, Christian and citizen.
